Houston's exclusive new YP club hosts a Halloween party you dare not miss
The Urbane Society is hosting another knock-out party — this time at The Grove on Halloween night — and if Urbane's pre-launch parties provide any indication, you shouldn't dare miss this event. The party starts at 8 pm on October 31 and runs until 11 pm. Your ticket includes an open bar, DJ, heavy hors-d'oeuvres, and a competitive costume contest. Tickets are $45 for members and $60 for guests of members. Or, for $125, you can apply for an annual membership and score a ticket to the event.
New club provides Houston area young professionals with dining opportunities
Houston businessman Nick Florescu, who has a penchant for fine dining, has created The Urbane Society, a members only club that provides young professionals a 20 percent discount to fine dining venues. The Urbane Society, which is “exclusive by choice, inclusive by design,” provides professionals aged 21 to 34 with dining opportunities that they may have not had before due to budget restraints. Florescu, who is married to KPRC2 news anchor Dominique Sachse, noted that he loves going to out eat with his wife, and also eats out a lot when she is working. Because of that, their children have also grown up in the fine-dining atmosphere.

Houston businessman launches young professionals platform
When Nick Florescu sees a need for something, he creates a company to help fill it.
Both his parents were political refugees from Romania, and when the Iron Curtain fell, the Florescu family was able to be reunited with its home country. It was then that Florescu realized that, without government-funded television, a huge opportunity in an untapped market opened up. Along with his brothers, Radu and John, he founded Centrade USA Inc., a media company with offices in Romania and Houston.
